Clare Park Lake Golf Course

A golf course with a bit of a difference. This beautiful par 3 nine hole (1268 yards) was
created in the 1950’s by a colourful local entrepreneur for his personal use but was
opened to the public in 1993 by the current owners.

It has matured into a stunning little course that is a challenge to beginners and experienced players alike.
The course weaves its way around a glorious 5 acre lake, bedecked in lilies in the
summer and alongside the banks of the river Stour. Wildlife enriches the scenery and
can create a welcome distraction if your golf is providing its own challenges.

Being uniquely small, but perfectly formed, a book and pay online system is operated
at www.claregolfcourse.co.uk. Toilets are available but there are no clubhouse
facilities. 9 holes will take approximately 1 ½ hrs depending on group size and ability.
As we do not have room for grass tees, we use good tee mats on frames.

We might be small and we do welcome those embarking on a golfing career but we
do still expect good etiquette and behaviour and safe play. Playing children with a set
of clubs of their own are allowed (younger ones must be accompanied by an adult)
but no dogs please.

Many a golfer has started their journey here. What we lack in distance, we make up
for in the need for accuracy hence it also benefits the most experienced player with
whom we haven’t been found wanting by many over the years.

With the hustle and bustle and time demands of life in the 21 st century, the 5 hour
round can be limiting to many a player. Clare Park Lake Golf Course, a full size
course in miniature, provides the perfect compromise.
